He started his professional career in 2004 in the energy company ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company).

From 2012-2017 he worked in a public foundation and founded various startups in London and Abu Dhabi.

In 2017 he began working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) as an Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He then worked there as Deputy Director for European Affairs (2018-2020) and Chief of Staff to the Foreign Minister (2020-2022).

On 24th October, 2022, Ahmed Alattar presented his credentials as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
