Licentiate Degree in Canon law from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in Germany (2000) and a diploma in Theology from the University of Malawi

Berufliche Laufbahn

Prior to his appointment, Joseph Mpinganjira worked as a Governance consultant (2016 – 2021) working for different agencies as well as for the African Institute for Development and Policy (AFIDEP) on The Malawi Parliament Enhancement Project. He worked as a Governance Advisor for the Embassy of Ireland (2012 – 2016) in Lilongwe, providing technical expertise to assure alignment of the Irish Aid’s Governance portfolio with Malawi national policies, strategies and systems.

 

Before joining the Irish Embassy, he worked as Managing Director of Responsible Management Approaches Company (REMAP) 2011 – 2012 promoting agriculture products through Fair Trade. He has worked as Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (2005 –2008) and head of diocesan Tribunal for the Archdiocese of Lilongwe (2000 – 2005) He has been on different Boards and Commissions, among them; member of Board of Directors, WeltHungerHilfe Foundation, Malawi: 2018 to 2020; member of University Council of the Catholic University of Malawi; Chairperson of the Special Law Commission on the Development of HIV/Aids Legislation – (Malawi Law Commission); Commissioner of the National Aids Commission: Member (2005 – 2008) and Member of the Board of Directors of Christian Hospitals Association of Malawi (CHAM).
