For instance, a nature experience with the listed company Erlebnis Akademie AG (Adventure Academy AG).
It is a very small and little-known listed company from Germany that we would like to introduce to you briefly.
A PORTRAIT OF ERLEBNIS AKADEMIE AG
Founded in 2001 and based in Bad Kötzting, Bavaria, Erlebnis Akademie AG is a leading provider and operator of treetop trails. Over the past 20 years, the company has built a number of treetop trails and forest playgrounds, including complementary facilities (e.g. gastronomic offers).
LOCATIONS
The German sites are located in the Black Forest, in the Bavarian Forest National Park, on Usedom, on Rügen and at the Saarschleife. In addition, two sites have been built in the Czech Republic and one each in Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia, and France.

The educational content was implemented in cooperation with renowned partners such as the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (German Federal Foundation for the Environment). The target group of the Erlebnis Akademie is people of all ages. The formulated corporate goal: to become Europe’s leading provider of nature experience facilities with a clear growth strategy.
FIGURES STRONGLY INFLUENCED BY CORONA
Let’s now take a look at the figures for the Covid-stricken year 2020, as here the risks of a tourism-driven business model in a pandemic become clearly visible: The 2020 figures were heavily impacted by the lockdown measures to contain the spread of Covid. Turnover fell from €16.5 million to €14.9 million compared to 2019. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) decreased from €6.4 to €5.7 million and operating profit (EBIT) from €2.9 to €1.8 million.
FUNDAMENTALLY GOOD DEVELOPMENT
However, a comparison between 2018 (pre-Covid phase) and 2019 (Covid crisis) looks quite different: Here, turnover increased from 15.3 to 16.5 million euros, EBITDA from 5.4 to 6.4 million euros and EBIT from 2.3 to 2.9 million euros. This shows: The Erlebnis Akademie business model worked well before the outbreak of the virus. Since the business model has shown initial success outside of a pandemic and further expansion is planned, the Erlebnis Akademie share may well be exciting in the medium and long term.
STOCK MARKET VALUE
However, the market capitalisation (the stock market value) is very small and therefore trading in the share is not always possible with larger sums. This also means: If you want to invest Naturerlebnisse an der Börse Die Erlebnis Akademie AG Nature experiences on the stock exchange The Erlebnis Akademie AG in the share, you should always place limited orders; i.e. set a maximum purchase price when entering and a minimum selling price when exiting – this protects you from unpleasant surprises when executing your order.
CONCLUSION
In Covid-stricken times, shares from the leisure and tourism industry remain risky. However, if you are interested in the company, you can use the time to test the leisure offers of the listed providers. If the quality is right, this could become an investment idea for the post-pandemic phase. This way you can combine leisure and investment.
