A total of seven ambassadors took to the pitch (Kosovo (captain), Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mozambique) alongside seven embassy staff members, who played against the German government team. Representatives from all parties in the Federal Government were present, with the exception of the AfD, which had been excluded some time ago due to racist remarks. This match was characterised by sport, fair play and friendship, and was also intended to further strengthen the exchange and good relations between representatives from the worlds of politics and diplomacy in Germany.
It was an exciting and fairly even match, but in the end the ambassadors lost 2–3. There will be a rematch in the autumn. Hopefully, the teams will then be cheered on by a larger crowd. After the strenuous match, the participants were invited to the Culaccino restaurant, which is run by a Kosovar. Both teams sat together in a colourful mix as they enjoyed their well-deserved treats.
