Kuwait –
65th National Day and 35th anniversary of liberation

09.02.2026
On 9 February, the Ambassador of Kuwait, H.E. Reem Mohammed Khaled Al Khaled, hosted a reception at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

The occasion was the 65th National Day and the 35th anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation during the Second Gulf War. The hotel’s grand ballroom was packed with hundreds of guests, and the Ambassador welcomed those present with a short speech. She placed particular emphasis on the close economic and cultural ties between Kuwait and Germany, which were further strengthened following the visit of German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to Kuwait City. Diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Germany have existed since 1964. For Kuwait, Germany is the most important trading partner in the EU, and there is cooperation in the fields of technology, energy, infrastructure, healthcare and the digital sector. From the Kuwaiti side, investments in Germany are of particular importance.
The evening was rounded off with a very lavish buffet. Arabic specialities and sinfully delicious sweets were on offer.
