This is something to remember: BeCat and Si-M
Two new research centers are researching pioneering therapies for previously incurable diseases
Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin have opened the research centers “Berlin Center for Advanced Therapies” (BeCAT) and “The Simulated Human” (Si-M). The new buildings offer scientists excellent conditions for researching and developing effective therapies for diseases that have so far been considered incurable.
From vision to reality
With the research centers BeCAT and Si-M, the vision of forward-looking medical research has taken concrete shape. Both centers will actively help shape the development of innovative technologies.
Both research centers stand for a strategic shift in medicine: “It is about establishing innovative methods of personalized medicine with a focus on cell and gene therapy. Together with strong partners from universities and the private sector, we are creating an environment here in Berlin that enables innovation from idea to application for our patients,” says Prof. Kroemer.
