National Day Katar

10.12.2025

H.E. Abdulla Ibrahim Al-Hamar, Ambassador of Qatar

The Ambassador of Qatar, H.E. Abdalla Al-Hamar, hosted a reception at the JW Marriott Hotel on December 10 to mark the National Day of the State of Qatar.

In the opulent surroundings of the grand ballroom, there was an elaborate stage program, introduced by three enchanting dancers in flowing white robes that looked like wings in motion, accompanied by two live (!) falcons. In his subsequent speech, the ambassador emphasized the close economic, political, and cultural ties between Qatar and Germany. Qatar has earned international respect in particular for its successful mediation in negotiations during global crises. Doha is especially known for its futuristic architecture alongside ancient Islamic buildings. Despite its state-of-the-art infrastructure, it lacks the glamorous glitz of other major Arab cities. The extremely respectful treatment of women is striking. Qatar is an increasingly attractive destination for global tourism. An impressive fashion show by two designers framed the program, and of course, Arab delicacies were not to be missed. In the foyer of the ballroom, precious jewelry pieces could also be admired.
