Ambassador Eskindir Yirga is a career diplomat

he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia and served as Attaché in Consular Affairs

he served as Protocol Officer for the State Minister for Political Affairs and later for the Foreign Minister

he was the Chief Editor at the Public Diplomacy and Communication Directorate General

he was assigned to the Ethiopian Embassy in Kenya as a Counsello

upon returning to Ethiopia, he was appointed as Chief of Protocol at the Office of the President

he served as Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Ethiopia to the AU and UNECA

he then assumed the position of Chief of Cabinet at the Office of the State Minister for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

he was assigned to the Embassy of Ethiopia in London, UK as Minister and was responsible for leading the Embassy’s Economic and Business Diplomacy activities

followed by a similar role at the Ethiopian Embassy in Berlin, Germany

back to Addis Ababa he was appointed as the Director for European Affairs and Benelux Countries, later acting as Deputy Director General for Europe and American Affairs and held this position until his appointment as Ambassador of the Federal Democratic R
